Opportunities are provided for students on the course to experience what it is like to work in the football industry and presentations from those working in the industry will take place throughout the duration of the course.
There will be opportunities throughout the course to gain valuable experience through placements and volunteering opportunities as well as working with staff on specific projects. We envisage that some of these opportunities will be based within the Bristol Academy of Sport and afford students the opportunity to work with talented young athletes.
Students will be provided with the opportunity to enrol on NGB coaching qualifications and build a portfolio of CPD relevant to football.
What do I need to join?
Students should be over the age of 18 and achieve 56 UCAS Tariff points, and have 4 GCSE Grade C or above inclusive of English, Maths, and Science. All applications will be made through UCAS.
We welcome applications from all students inclusive of overseas students. Applicants will need a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure obtained through the SGS College.
How long is the course?
How will I learn?
Delivery will take place in specific HE classrooms, workshops, seminars and through practical sessions.
How will I know how I am doing?
The course will be assessed through coursework, presentations, exams and case studies. Regular feedback will be given to students by the delivery team.
Are there any extra costs?
No – students will be provided with practical kit.
What can I do next?
Students can progress onto a "top-up" year at many Universities, including the University of Gloucestershire, on an appropriate related degree.
What are my career opportunities?
Career opportunities in football inclusive of coaching, a development role or administration. The skills learned on the course will also provide career opportunities in the wider field of sport.
