96 UCAS points required from qualifications with the volume and depth of A level or BTEC equivalent Students will be expected to have a GCSE grade C pass or equivalent in Maths & English.
This exciting course will develop your ‘triple threat’ through acting, singing and dance (jazz,tap, ballet) technique workshops closely linked to musical theatre performance projects. Learning through practical exploration of a variety of musical theatre styles, you will demonstrate your understanding through productions, workshops, performance and research projects. Previous productions include Evita, Sweeney Todd, Nine, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, Witches of Eastwick and Footloose.
The course is delivered at the South West Academy of Dramatic Arts which has excellent facilities including the 200 seat Olympus theatre, the Loft studio theatre, 4 dance studios , acting studios and technical workshops.
The course includes a visit to New York and a cultural exchange with musical theatre students in Rotterdam,Holland.

Dance theatre styles (Jazz, Tap , Ballet)
Acting through song
Text to Performance
20th Century American Musical Theatre
Progression to a 3rd year (top up) completes the BA and can lead to postgraduate study at drama school.
