This degree offers students an exciting opportunity to study Fashion and Textiles and the progressive, cross disciplinary aspects of these industries. Our focus is on creative thinking and developing the knowledge and technical skills appropriate for employment in the creative industries.
Professional Practice ,Work-Based Project, Contextualising Fashion and Textiles, Fashion Drawing, Pattern Cutting and Workshop Skills, Surface Design and Texture Modules, Contextualising Fashion and Textiles, Innovation and Technique Pattern Cutting and Workshop Skills and Design Development
A varied range of workshops deliver practical skills in Fashion & Textile design, as well as a wider approach to Fashion Communication through Illustration, Photography and Marketing/Promotion. Through a range of creative assignments integrated within the modules, students develop a portfolio that will support job applications within the Fashion and Textiles associated industries. Progression to a 3rd year (top up Level 6) completes the BA and then you can move onto further postgraduate studies.
Potential career opportunities include Fashion Designing, Buyer, Textile Designing, Sales, Technical Development and Research or Establish own business.
All students are required to present a portfolio (digital and paper-based) and attend an interview for entry to the programme. Applicants must apply via UCAS Students are expected to have a GCSE grade C pass or equivalent in Maths & English.
Points accepted: 64 points required from qualifications with the volume and depth of A level or equivalent.
Mature students over 21 - Professional/ Creative experience profile and evidence of academic ability.
